Manuel Ventura Cajuda De Santos (born 27 June 1951 in Olhão,Portugal) is a Portuguese football manager who has managed several teams in the Portuguese First Division since the late 1980s and also managed abroad and last manages Vitória Guimarães.

Career

He has managed Portimonense, Olhanense, Louletano, Torreense, Elvas, União Leiria,SC Braga, Belenenses, Marítimo, Naval and Naval. His biggest achievements include two 4th places for SC Braga, one cup final for União Leiria, 6th place with Marítimo and an incredible 3rd place with Benfica pipping Portuguese Giants to the UEFA Champions League but Vitória Guimarães lost in the 3rd qualifying round to Basel with a controversial decision which led them to lose out on their first ever appearance in the UEFA Champions League. In January 2006 Cajuda signed as manager for Egyptian giants Zamalek becoming the second Portuguese manager for that team in the previous four years. However on Christmas Day 2006 he was announced as the new manager of Vitória Guimarães who achieved promotion to the first division at the end of the season. He is also the father of Portuguese actor João Cajuda.

Cajuda vs Mourinho

In 2000–01, Cajuda was the manager of Braga. He met Mourinho'a Benfica at the Estadio da Luz for the sixth fixture of the season. The match ended as a 2–2 draw. Mourinho moved to Leiria, and the match between Leiria and Braga ended 0–0. The finall day of the championship, Braga was 4th, and Leiria won 3–5 and reached the 5th place. The next season, 2001–02, Leiria took 0–0 at Braga. But in the second round, Leiria won 3–1, before FC Porto sign Mourinho as the new manager.

Cajuda moved to the former Mourinho's team, Uniao de Leiria, and in 2002–03 Leiria stopped Porto at home, taking a 2–2. At the Estadio das Antas, Porto won 2–0. On June 15, 2003, Porto beat Leiria 1–0 for the Portuguese Cup final.

The next year, Cajuda takes over at Maritimo. In Madeira, Maritimo takes a 2–2 draw, but at the do Dragao stadium, Porto wins 1–0.
