From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Maritza Martin (1959-1993) was a woman shot to death by Emilio Nuñez in 1993. Martin was being interviewed (although she didn't answer any questions) by Ocurrio asi reporter Ingrid Cruz, after she showed up at her daughter's grave while the father, Emilio Nuñez, was there.

Emilio Nuñez then left the grave site and went to his car, apparently retrieved a weapon, and shot Martiza Martin several times. The cameraman managed to film the first few shots while the reporter ran for the car. The footage can now be seen in the films Bowling for Columbine[1] and Executions.[2][3]

She left behind a son of eighteen months old.

In 2000, Emilio Nuñez was found guilty by a jury in Fort Lauderdale.[3]
