The Marquette Golden Eagles Basketball team is the basketball team that represents Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The school's team currently competes in the Big East Conference. The team last played in the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament in 2009. The Golden Eagles were coached by Tom Crean until April 1, 2008. Buzz Williams was hired to replace him. Marquette maintains rivalries and highly-anticipated games with several other schools, including the University of Wisconsin–Madison, University of Louisville, University of Notre Dame, University of Pittsburgh, and DePaul University. The team plays its home games at the Bradley Center in downtown Milwaukee, where the Milwaukee Bucks NBA team also plays. The team was ranked 10th in average attendance among NCAA Division 1 teams in 2009.
