• Martyrs' Day (India), is observed on the 30th of January every year in India. It is on this day in 1948 that The Father of the Indian Nation, Mahatma Gandhi fell to an assassin's bullet. India observes the day in memory of his martyrdom & of all those who gave up their lives for their country.

• Martyrs' Day (Lebanon and Syria), commemorates the execution of Syrian nationalists in Damascus by the Ottoman occupants on May 6, 1916.
