Mary Elmira Brown was born on July 25, 1855 in Pennsylvania to Robert Brown and Sarah England. She lived in Morris, Pennsylvania in her childhood.
Mary married Thomas A. Buskirk, son of Joseph Buskirk and Ann Evans, on January 17, 1875 in Pennsylvania. In 1880, Thomas, Mary and their two children were living in Huston, Pennsylvania where Thomas worked in the woods. In 1900, Thomas, Mary, and their children are living in Jay, Pennsylvania where Thomas was a farmer. Thomas died in 1915 and Mary continued to live with her children. In 1920, she lived as a widow with her two children in Jay, Pennsylvania. In 1930, she lived in Jay, Pennsylvania with her son Ferdinand. Mary died sometime after 1930. She is buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Jay, Elk County, Pennsylvania.
