Matt Dearborn is an American television producer and screenwriter.

Career

Matt Dearborn has written over 100 produced episodes of television, including, Beverly Hills, 90210, Eerie, Indiana, Parker Lewis Can't Lose, The Secret World of Alex Mack, Sliders and Even Stevens which he created. In 2008 he created a series for Disney XD called "Zeke and Luther", which became the highest rated original series in the history of the network. He will serve as Zeke and Luther Executive Producer. This will be Matt's 5th executive producing job in the teen/tween genre (Phil of the Future - season 1, Romeo! - season 2 and 3, Just for Kicks - season 1, Beyond the Break - season 1, 2 and 3). On a dare from a friend, Matt auditioned for a recurring part on the short-lived series TV 101. He got the part, and also ended up writing 3 episodes for the series.

For creating Even Stevens, Dearborn received 3 consecutive Emmy nominations for Outstanding Children's series—the only entertainment program nominated in the category (the other, like Reading Rainbow which won the award—was an educational tool). In 2001 Even Stevens won the BAFTA Award for Outstanding International Children's series. Dearborn was also nominated for an NAACP Image Award for running the show... Romeo! produced by the Lynch TV and starring Master P's son, Lil Romeo.

Matt's directing credits are as follows: Alex Mack (3 episodes), Even Stevens (3 episodes), Beyond the Break (2 episodes), Phil of the Future and Zeke and Luther (2 episodes). He has also served as a basketball consultant on several movies.

Personal life

Matt Dearborn had married former Miss USA Kelli McCarty in 2000. They divorced sometime in 2008.
