Matthew Pritzker (born 1982), is the son of Robert Pritzker and Karen Pritzker, and an heir of the Pritzker family’s Hyatt Hotel fortune. He is a real-estate entrepreneur, the head of the Matthew Pritzker Company, and owns part of Chicago-based HomeMade Pizza Company and State Street Pictures.
He received an estimated $500 million settlement after he sued his father and cousins over his trust fund. The 2007 agreement does not permit him to make further claims for family money.[1]The settlement did not bring much peace to the Pritzker family, many of whom do not speak to one another, according to Vanity Fair.[2]
In 2009, he invested additional money into the HomeMade Pizza Company, a chain of take and bake pizza shops based in Chicago. This infusion of funds will allow the chain to grow from 25 to more than 100 locations by 2014, with a focus on Chicago and New York City area sites.[3]
In July 2010, Pritzker was charged with a federal lawsuit stating that he intentionally struck and injured a bicyclist in with his SUV in Chicago, and left the scene after the bicyclist throw his bike on top of Pritzker's SUV hood. [4][5]
He lives on Chicago’s northside.
