Max Williams (born c.1991) is a semi-professional Basketball player, currently residing in New Plymouth, New Zealand[1]. In January 2009, Williams captained the New Zealand Under 18 Basketball team at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival (AYOF). Although the team suffered big losses at the hands of Australia and China, the team won a thrilling Bronze medal game 86-85 in overtime. Max Williams was 11th in scoring at 12.6 ppg, and 2nd in rebounding at 9.0 rpg. In the Bronze medal game, Williams amassed a double-double of 17 points-13 rebounds, and hit a three point shot to send the game into overtime.

Williams is keeping his college options open, having turned down an opportunity to play professionally in the NZ NBL (National Basketball League). He attended New Plymouth Boys' High School, where he was Head of House and a prefect. Williams has often been remembered for his fiery attitude, with an array of fist-pumps and loud shouting a way of signifying his passion for the game of Basketball.
