MechWarrior 2 BattlePack is a compilation of three enhanced components of the MechWarrior 2 experience:

• MechWarrior 2: 31st Century Combat
• MechWarrior 2: Ghost Bear's Legacy
• NetMech

It also includes a free copy of The Official MechWarrior 2 Battle Guide from Brady Books. Unlike the MechWarrior 2: The Titanium Trilogy compilation, MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries was not included.

The main change in Battlepack is that both the included games are run on the Mercenaries game engine. This resulted in some visual enhancements, however the games were still only software rendered. MS-DOS versions of the original games were also included. However the downside was that the differing mechanics meant that Battlepack's NetMech was incompatible with the MS-DOS/Windows versions, and only worked with other Battlepacks and the Titanium Trilogy.
