district in the Indian state of Gujarat.

Situated near Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, Mehsana is one of the largest cities in North Gujarat, followed by Patan and Palanpur. A number of primary industries including dairy, and oil and natural gas are situated in or around the city. The city is also famous for its local Mehsani buffalo breed, having the first water park in Eurasia (currently the largest in Gujarat), and the largest iron and steel market in India.
Mehsana is now also slated to have airport the first privately-operated airport in Gujarat which will function as an air flight training centre of Ahmedabad Aviation and Aeronautics Ltd. The flight training centre, which has come up at an abandoned airport, has been developed by the Gujarat Government and AAA Ltd in an area spread over 64 acres (260,000 m2) and has cost Rs four crores. An agreement for this was signed by the two sides during `Vibrant Gujarat Investors Summit-2007'.
Mehsana is connected by rail to all major cities in India. There are daily trains to and from Delhi and Mumbai, and direct weekly or bi-weekly trains connecting major cities in the North and South India including Cochin, Bangalore and Trivandrum. All the major trains from Delhi and Mumbai have a stop in Mehsana, including the Delhi-Ahmedabad Rajdhani Express. Mehsana Railway Station has a computerized reservation facility.
Road connections include the National Highway from Ahmedabad to Delhi, passing through Rajasthan. The six-lane highway from Mehsana to Ahmedabad enables travel-times of less than an hour. In addition to private road services, the State Transport operate bus services to Ahmedabad every 10-15 minutes. The nearest airport is Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel International Airport at Ahmedabad. Prepaid Taxis are available to Mehsana from the Airport itself.
Mahesana is located at 23°36′N 72°24′E / 23.6°N 72.4°E[1]. It has an average elevation of 81 metres (265 feet) above sea level. It is approximately 69 km away from the mega city, Ahmedabad. Some of the famous places of Mehsana are Raj Mahal Road, Pilaji Gunj, Gayatri Temple, Para area, Nagalpur, Shri Sarvajanik Kelvani Mandal, Naalanda High School, Wide-Angle Multiplex Theatre, T.B. "Tulsi Bunglows" is one of the largest township on Radhanpur road with 400 houses.
As of 2001 India census[2], Mahesana had a population of 1,40000. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Mahesana has an average literacy rate of 77%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 81%, and female literacy is 72%. In Mahesana, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.

The Mehsana District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd. Mehsana, popularly known as Dudhsagar Dairy, is a member of the state-level Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd. Anand Dudhsagar Dairy is the largest dairy in Asia, processing on an average 1.41 million kilograms of milk each day. It has established a network for procuring milk from 4,500,000 milk producers through 1150 village milk cooperatives. Dudhsagar Dairy is a technology pioneer in its industry, using information technology to simplify, automate, and improve operational efficiency.
Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited
Established in November 1967, the Mehsana fields have grown into the highest onshore-producing asset of the ONGC. Covering an area of 6000 sq. km with 28 fields, in 2007-2008, oil production figures valued 2.1011MMT. Mehsana also has 1311 oil wells and 16 gas wells producing 5800 tonnes per day.

This temple is 161 ft (49 m) long, 97 ft (30 m) broad and 107 ft (33 m) high. This gives an idea of the grandeur of the temple.
