Mike Burgess is a Republican member of the Kansas House of Representatives, representing the 51st district. He has served since 2003.

Burgess, who works as a web developer, has a BA in Journalism/Mass Communication from Kansas State University.[1]

He is a board member of the Shawnee County Fair Association and past chair of the Public Relations Society of America Technology Section.


Issue positions

Burgess has refused to take Project Vote Smart's 2008 Political Courage Test. The test, which is administered to all candidates for presidential, congressional, gubernatorial, and state legislative offices, asks one central question - "Are you willing to tell citizens your positions on the issues you will most likely face on their behalf?"[2]
