Mike Dimkich is the rhythm guitarist for The Cult. He has played rhythm guitar with the band The Cult since 1993 (except for one tour in '95) whom he met while opening for them in 1989 when he played guitar with Steve Jones (of Sex Pistols and later Jonesy's Jukebox infamy). He played in the punk band Channel 3 starting in 1986, and made a record in 1995 with his band Suckerpunch. In 2009,he played on the Cheap Trick album "The Latest"

Background

He is of Serbian decent (Serbian surname: Димкић, Dimkić), hence his nickname The Serb. He is an ultra-marathon runner. During the Cult's 2001 tour, he was training for the Angeles Crest 100 Mile Endurance Run. He was trying to run 80 or more miles a week despite playing gigs, staying up late and having to ride tour buses from one venue to the next. 118 runners started the Angeles Crest 100, only 64 finished. Mike placed 26th.

Among numerous other events, Mike also was 1 of only 4 runners to complete the 2002 100 km 'Pier to Peak' run across Los Angeles, a huge athletic achievement.

He also has run the Comrades Marathon in South Africa.

Also a competitive road cyclist, Mike ran the hot (104 degrees), epic (217 miles with more than 12,000 feet of climbing), 23rd Annual Tour of Two Forests, held September 27, 2003 in California. There were 134 starters, 108 finishers. Mike placed 26th again.

He has a degree in History. He lives in Woodland Hills, California with his wife, Hilary Morse and Son, Luka and dog, Pico.
