Milan Paumer

Milan Paumer (* 7 April 1931 Kolín, Czechoslovakia) was a member of anticommunist resistance.

Since 1942 he is a friend of the Mašín brothers. After communist coup d'etat he was a member of their group. In October 1953 together with them he fought his way through East Germany to West Berlin. Their friends Zbyněk Janata and Václav Švéda were caught and executed.

He became a US soldier and fought in the Korean War. After 5 year Paumer left the army. In 1998 he retired. In 2001 he settled down in the Czech Republic and is active in Czech politics outside the Parliament.
