St. Joseph's Miltown Malbay GAA Club was formed in 1892. Its home ground is Hennessy Memorial Park which is located out the Spanish Point road in the town. Hennessy Memorial Park is on of the largest fields in the country and is often regarded as one of the best pitches mainly due to its ability to be played on even after the worst of weather. It underwent a major redevelopment in the 1990s and was rewarded with the hosting of county finals in both football and hurling in the late 90s as well as numerous inter-county matches. There are currently plans afoot to build a stand on the dressing room side of the pitch. Its primary colours are maroon and amber while in recent years the club has also worn a second strip which is navy and yellow. The current executive of the club are Chairperson: Carragh Vaughan, Secretary: Shane O'Connell, Treasurer: Tommy Byrne. Club Member Noel Walsh is a former Munster Council Chairman who was instrumental in abolishment of Rule 42. The current club sponsors are Cogans Bar & Restaurant.
