João Miranda de Souza Filho, or simply Miranda (born September 7, 1984 in Paranavaí), is a Brazilian central defender. He currently plays for São Paulo.

International career

On August 20, 2007, Miranda received his first call-up to the national team as a replacement for Lúcio for a friendly match against Algeria.[1] However, he did not make his debut as he was only an unused substitute during the match. More than a year later, Miranda made his first international appearances for Brazil in a 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification match against Peru on April 1, 2009. He came on as a substitute for Luisão who was injured during the game.[2]
