Mobissimo.com is a travel meta-search website based in California. The site was started in 2004 with one million USD of seed financing from Benhamou Global Ventures, Cambrian Ventures and Index Ventures[1]. Similar to other travel meta-search websites, Mobissimo consolidates travel offerings from a number of vendors and receives a referral fee for sending visitors to vendors' sites (also known as pay per click advertising).
Mobissimo's competitors include Kayak, SideStep and Farecast. Mobissimo has traditionally been considered the third most popular travel meta-search engine in the United States, behind Kayak and SideStep. In the summer of 2007 Mobissimo was surpassed by Farecast[2].
