From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nasim Nisr (also spelled Nissim Nasser; Arabic: نسيم نصر‎; Hebrew: נסים נסר‎; born 1968), is a Lebanese citizen who was convicted of spying for Hezbollah. Nisr was born in Lebanon to a Muslim father and a Jewish mother who converted to Islam after her marriage. Nisr moved to Israel in 1982, and obtained Israeli citizenship under the Law of Return.[1] He was arrested in 2002, and subsequently tried and convicted of spying for Hezbollah[2]. He was sentenced to six years in prison in a plea bargain.[3] His release in a prisoner exchange was a Hezbollah demand during the 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict, which Israel refused. However on June 1, 2008, he was released in exchange for the body parts of Israeli soldiers killed during the 2006 war. [1] [2]
