It is situated in the Bio Centre on the York Science Park at the University of York. It was opened by Larry Whitty, Baron Whitty.
The NNFCC is the UK's national centre for renewable fuels, materials and technologies. The Centre develops and disseminates scientific and technical information as widely as possible: to increase knowledge and understanding; to initiate and facilitate technology uptake; and to meet the Government's and society's wider objectives for sustainable development.
The NNFCC
The NNFCC is interested in building supply chains for products made from plants including biolubricants, plant-derived pharmaceuticals, renewable polymers, fuels, energy, biorefineries and crop-derived construction materials.
The Centre receives funding from the Department for Energy and Climate Change, industrial sponsors and individual subscribers. The NNFCC also undertakes commercial work for individual companies and private sector organisations.
