The Negro Project conspiracy theory is an alleged eugenics program. It concerns a project Sanger initiated to give African-Americans better access to birth control techniques and devices. The project, according to proponents of the theory, supposedly aims to reduce or eliminate the black population through use of abortion.[1]This has been disputed by Planned Parenthood[2] and by the Margaret Sanger Papers Project[3]. Further evidence against this conspiracy theory comes from the fact that Sanger, while a vocal and active proponent of birth control, family planning and eugenics, was opposed to abortion.[4]The 2009 documentary Maafa 21, covers the topic.
