Nick Searcy (born March 7, 1959) is an American actor.
Having made his film debut as "Father #2" in Unspeakable Acts, a 1990 film about the "Dade County Day Care Center Panic",[2][3] he has been a continued presence in both television and film.[4]
Searcy has performed in both television and film. Following his debut in Unspeakable Acts, Searcy has had co-starring roles in Fried Green Tomatoes, Runaway Jury, Cast Away, A Mother's Right: The Elizabeth Morgan Story, Nell, Paradise Falls, About Sarah, Seven Days, Head of State, Mall Cop, and Neighborhood Watch; with supporting roles in many more projects. Searcy stars in the Tony Elwood directed thriller Cold Storage.[5] He portrayed Mercury astronaut and NASA Director of Flight Operations Deke Slayton in the HBO miniseries From the Earth to the Moon, appearing in more episodes than any other actor. He was also in the 2007 comedy/spoof movie The Comebacks as Lance Truman's father.[4] He will next be seen in April 2010 in The Last Song and August 2010 in Sylvester Stallone's The Expendables (2010 film). He also had a role in The Fugitive with Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones. He was the sheriff of the town where the bus/train accident occurred.
