Nicktoonsters was a television channel in the United Kingdom, which launched on 18 August 2008 on Sky 630. It was a spinoff channel of Nicktoons. Its licence first appeared on the OFCOM website in September 2007 (initially named "Nick Toons 2", this was changed to Nick Toonsters on 3 July 2008). [1] Nicktoonsters was for 5-8 year olds and showed old Cartoons from Nicktoons and broadcast from 07:00 to 19:00. The channel timeshared with Comedy Central Extra +1, the 1 hour timeshift service of Comedy Central Extra. Comedy Central Extra +1 was previously 24 hours, however the hours were reduced to 19:00 to 07:00 on 4 August 2008, to allow the launch of Nicktoonsters.

The channel launched with a Rugrats marathon week before commencing its regular schedule, at first exclusively formed of "classic" shows. In more recent months, Nickelodeon had added screenings of newer programmes such as Fairly Odd Parents and SpongeBob SquarePants on holidays and weekends.

Nicktoonsters's format was similar to POP, which also shows archived children's television programming.

Due to unknown reasons, Nicktoonsters was closed on 31 July 2009 and was replaced with a new 1 hour timeshift of Nicktoons on 1 August 2009. [2][3]
