Nikolay Ivanovich Padius (also spelled Nikolai Padius; born January 9, 1980 in Saint Petersburgh, Russia, Soviet Union) is a Russian professional basketball player. He is 1.97 m (6 ft 5 ¾ in) in height and he weighs 91 kg (200 pounds). He plays at the shooting guard position. He currently plays with the pro club Spartak Primorje.

Pro career

Padius began his pro career in 1997 with Spartak St. Petersburg. He then joined CSKA Moscow in the year 2000. In 2003, he moved to Dynamo Moscow. In 2004, he signed with Aris Thessaloniki. In 2006, he moved to Dynamo Moscow Region. In 2007, he signed with UNICS Kazan. In 2008, he joined Maroussi and then Spartak Primorje.

He has played in the 2006 Greek League All Star Game, the 2007 Russian League All Star Game, and the 2007 FIBA EuroCup All Star Game.

Russian national basketball team

With the junior national teams of Russia he played at the 1998 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship and at the 1999 FIBA Under-18 World Championship. He also played at the 2000 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship and at the 2001 World University Games with Russia's junior national teams.

He is also a former member of the senior Russian national basketball team that won the gold medal at the 2007 European Championship.
