< Nineteen Eighty-Four

1984 was written by George Orwell in the 1940's after World War II. It is a dystopic novel depicting a so-called socialist government in Great Britain in the year 1984. In reality, the government is totalitarian, and controls everything from the economy to language.

Orwell is also known for the satirical novel Animal Farm.
