Ermias Asghedom better known by his stage name Nipsey Hussle is an American rapper. Asghedom is of Somali descent. His father is of East African decent, and immigrated to L.A. from Somalia, where he later met Hussle’s mother who grew up on 5th and Slauson.[citation needed] Nipsey was raised in streets of Los Angeles, California on the streets of Slauson and Crenshaw.[2]


Music Career

In 2008 Nipsey Hussle had released his mixtape Bullets Ain't Got No Names Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 soon afterwards. Later that year he was signed to Epic Records through Cinematc Music Group.[3][4] Towards the end of the year Nipsey Hussle's debut single Hussle In The House was released.

In 2009 Nipsey Hussle released Bullets Ain't Got No Names Vol. 3 and collaborated with Drake on a track titled "Killers."[5] He also appeared on Snoop Dogg's album Malice In Wonderland on the track "Upside Down"[6] as well as the official remix for Dorrough's single Ice Cream Paint Job.

In 2010 Nipsey Hussle appeared on the We Are the World 25 for Haiti charity song, an updated version of Michael Jackson's single along with Snoop Dogg, Drake and more.[7]

Nipsey Hussle was featured on the cover of XXL Magazine's Annual Freshman Ten with other up and coming artist like Jay Rock,Big Sean , J.Cole, & Wiz Khalifa .[8]

Acting Career

In 2010 Nipsey Hussle had confirmed that he would be starring the film Wrath of Cain which is to be directed by Ving Rhames.[9] [10]
