The Nissan J engine was a straight-4 gasoline internal combustion engine produced by Nissan in the 1960s through the 1980s.

  • The J13 OHV engine was produced for the Nissan 520 and Nissan 521 truck from 1967 to 1969 when replaced by the Nissan L engine and Nissan 510 (MEKISIKO) J13 engine.
  • The J15 has been used in various Nissan Pickup Trucks in various overseas markets through the 1980s.


The J20 is a 2.0 L (1994 cc) engine. It produces 109 hp (81 kW) and was used in the 1965-73 Nissan Cedric. The J20 was also used in the (Nissan) Volkswagen Santana with 140 hp (100 kW).
