No 88 Squadron RAF was an aircraft squadron of the Royal Air Force formed in Gosport, Hampshire in July 1917. [1]

Involvement in World War I

The squadron was moved to France in April 1918 where it undertook fighter-reconnaissance duties. It was also involved in the development of air-to-air wireless telegraphy and participated in numerous bombing raids.

Involvement in World War II

During World War II the squadron operated Boston IIIAs from France in 1944, alongside the 2nd TAF. They flew Fairey Battles, Bristol Blenheims and Douglas Bostons.
