No One Killed Jessica is an upcoming Bollywood film starring Rani Mukerji and Vidya Balan, produced by UTV Spotboy and directed by Rajkumar Gupta who had earlier directed the acclaimed film Aamir (2008).
The movie will have music by Amit Trivedi, who earlier gave music in Dev D(2008) [1][2].While Vidya Balan plays a character close to Jessica’s elder sister, Sabrina Lall, Rani is set to play a reporter. [3].
The political thriller, set in New Delhi was believed to be based on the controversial Jessica Lal murder case, however later film's director clarified that the title and the script are actually inspired by a headline that The Times Of India carried in 2006, when the accused in the infamous murder case were acquitted by the lower courts, leading to nationwide protests, reopening of the case and subsequent sentencing of the accused, and not the case per se[4][5].
