Club career

Having emerged through Vitória de Setúbal's youth ranks, Frechaut went on to represent Boavista FC (until December 2004), winning the national championship for the latter in 2000–01, appearing mainly as right back.

After a failed Russian experience, with FC Dynamo Moscow,[1] he joined Sporting de Braga, in January 2006.[2]

In very late August 2009, after three 1/2 seasons of regular use, Frechaut left Braga and Portugal, agreeing terms with French second division outfit FC Metz.

International career

Frechaut had 18 caps for Portugal, still as a Boavista player, the first coming on 2 June 2001, a 1–1 draw with Republic of Ireland in the 2002 World Cup qualifyings.

He was part of the nation's squads at both the 2002 FIFA World Cup and the 2004 Olympic Games.
