Oleksiy Pecherov (Ukrainian: Олексій Печеров; born December 8, 1985 in Donetsk, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union) is a Ukrainian basketball player. He stands at 7'0". The NBA's Washington Wizards selected him with the 18th pick in the 2006 NBA Draft; Pecherov signed a contract with the Wizards on July 5, 2007. Oleksiy has previously played with Paris Basket Racing internationally. On June 23, 2009, he was traded along with Etan Thomas, Darius Songaila, and a first round pick to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Randy Foye and Mike Miller.[2]

Oleksiy's major strength is his shooting stroke—he is an offensive threat both in the low post and out near the 3-point line. He has also shown tenacity for rebounding the basketball.[3] In the 2007 NBA Summer League, he averaged 15.2 points and 8.8 rebounds for the Wizards.[4]
