Osvaldo Castro Pelayo (born October 17, 1948),nicknamed"Pata Bendita" is a retired Chilean footballer who played in Chilean and Mexican League clubs. He is the topscorer in the history of Chilean football with 351 goals in 592 official matches.
Castro started in Chilean club Unión La Calera in 1965.He departed to Deportes Concepción in 1969 where he earned the title of Goalscorer in 1970 with 36 goals.
With 136 goals scored in his first 5 seasons in Chile in 1971,he was transferred to Club América In the 1973-1974 season, "Pata Bendita" becomes maximum Primera División de Mexico goalscorer. Castro obtained the award other three consecutive times.
In 1975 Castro is sold to Jalisco de Guadalajara.He will end his career in 1984 with Pumas de la UNAM.
