The Ottawa Business Journal is a regional business publication serving Canada's National Capital Region. Founded in 1995, it is owned by Transcontinental Media and published on a weekly basis with a circulation of 20,000 copies. Over its first decade, the Ottawa Business Journal has been recognized as a leading source of local business information. In addition to its weekly newspaper, the Ottawa Business Journal also includes the largest business-related website in Ottawa, Canada.

The Ottawa Business Journal also publishes several annual and biannual magazines and directories, including the Ottawa Technology Magazine, the Book of Lists, Ottawa HR, Meeting In The Capital and the Commercial Space Directory (owned by BOMA Ottawa).

The Ottawa Business Journal also produces two of the city's largest business award programs -- the Forty Under 40 Awards and the CEO of the Year Award.

The current publisher is Michael Curran. The current editor is Jim Donnelly. The current reporters are Krystle Chow and Peter Kovessy. The newspaper also has a photographer, Etienne Ranger.

The OBJ message board and online polls

The Ottawa Business Journal has been a pioneer in Ottawa in the use of anonymous message boards and online polls. The OBJ message board allows individuals to interact with the OBJ editor and other readers. The OBJ message board provided many anonymously contributed news tips to the editor and reporters of OBJ.
