Pablo Cesar Barrientos (born 17 January, 1985) is an Argentine football player, he currently plays for Catania in the Italian Serie A.



Barrientos spent two years playing in Russia with FC Moscow before returning to his club of origin[1].


Calcio Catania

On 29 May 2009 Catania have signed Argentine attacking midfielder from FK Moscow for next season and until June 2013, he played in Argentina on loan for San Lorenzo in the previous season[2]. The player's highly anticipated impact following the transfer, has been far from succesful, as he has been plagued by injury and is yet to make his debut for the Sicilian giants, as of the Christmas break.

International career

Barrientos recently received a call-up to the Argentina squad against Chile on 15 November 2008 by Alfio Basile.


Pablo's brother, Hugo is a fellow footballer playing in Argentina.
