Parkside is a neighborhood in San Francisco. It originally began as a distinct district, but today it is generally considered to be the southern part of the Outer Sunset District.


The exact border of the district is not very well-defined, but according to most locals, the northern border is Ortega Street or Noriega Street and the eastern border is 19th Avenue. Ocean Beach forms its western border, while Sloat Boulevard forms its southern border.

Attractions & Charisteristics

The area is mostly residential, except for the commercial corridor on Taraval Street. The L Taraval of the Muni Metro serves the neighborhood and provides a mode of transportation to downtown. Other transit lines include the 29 Sunset, the 48 Quintara-24th Street, the 66 Quintara, and the 18 46th Avenue. The Parkside branch of the San Francisco Public Library is also located in the area.

The neighborhood is represented by District 4. The current District 4 supervisor is Carmen Chu.
