Parviz Parastui (also spelt Parviz Parastooee, Persian: پرویز پرستویی , born 25 April 1955 in Hamedan, Iran) is one of the greatest Iranian actors.

Parviz Parastui had worked in judicature before he became an actor. He began his acting talent by starring in the film Diar-e Asheghan . Following Diar-e Asheghan, Parastui began a long lasting career in films .
After starring in films such as Pishtazan-e Fath, Hunting, etc, Parviz Parastui acted as Sadeq Meshkini, a comedy role in the highly acclaimed yet controversial movie Leily is with Me directed by Kamal Tabrizi . The war film Leily is with me brought a new prospective view to the Iran-Iraq war which up to then was viewed as taboo material. The movie tells the comical story of a war-fearing employee of Iranian Television Broadcasting unknowingly advancing straight to enemy lines, while actually trying to flee the war when assigned to accompagny a director to a city close to enemy lines to film a documentary piece. Since then, Parastui expanded his presence as a comedy film actor by starring in other revolutionary comedy films.
Parviz Parastui introduced himself as a dexterous comedian however, he starred in some war films like: The Red Ribbon,The Glass Agency, Dead Wave, etc. Parviz Parastui's war roles have proved his ability and also his talent to the cinema. Ebrahim Hatamikia directed most of Parastui war films.
Parviz Parastui had been known as a comedian with playing roles in The Snowman, The Glass Love, Mard-e Avazi before he showed his satire role in extraordinary film, The Lizard (Marmoulak) another work by Kamal Tabrizi. He gained a major popularity and fame after playing in Marmoulak as Reza Marmoulak.
Parastui's TV works is limited to some serials such as: The Apartment, Imam Ali, The Red Soil, Under the Pillory (Zir-e Tigh) . Parastui's acting in Under the Pillory (Zir-e Tigh) caused praise of people who live in allover the world. He awarded The Best Actor title in International TV Programs Rome Festival for playing in Zire Tigh.[1]

Amongst his more notable roles are Leily Is With Me (1996), The Glass Agency (1997), the popular satire The Lizard (2004) and The Willow Tree (2005), for which he won the Crystal Simorgh for Best Actor award at the 2005 Fajr Film Festival. He had previously won the Diploma of Honour for the Best Leading Actor at the 1996 Fajr Film Festival for acting in Leily Is With Me, as well as the Crystal Simorgh for Best Leading Actor from the same festival for his performance in The Glass Agancy.
Besides acting in movies and on stage, Parviz is a singer and so far has recorded three albums. His last album called "Daddy" (Persian: بابایی) was released in 2006.
