Paul Lovatt-Cooper is a percussionist and 'Composer in Association' with the world-famous Black Dyke Band.

Lovatt-Cooper's composing breakthrough came with 'Where Eagles Sing' which has been performed by brass bands the world over and recorded by Black Dyke Band, Cory Band and Brighouse & Rastrick Brass Band.

'Horizons' has been recorded by Brass Band Willebroek from Belgium, European Brass Band Champions in 2006 and 2007.

His composition 'The Dark Side of the Moon' was selected as the test piece for the 3rd section of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain 2008 regional contests. The same piece has been selected as the test piece for the 3rd section of the Dutch National Brass Band Championships 2008 to be held in Groningen.

A CD recording of his music has been made by Black Dyke Band and is due to be released on the Doyen label in September 2008.

Lovatt-Cooper is currently Head of Music at Wardle High School.

Lovatt-Cooper has teamed up with Shane Hammill to write a charity single called 'Never Say Goodbye'. All of the money raised goes to the 'Say Hello To Edward' Campaign to help fight Muscular Dystrophy.
