Permira is an international private equity firm, based in London, and which is currently headed by Damon Buffini. Permira is the plural neutral form of the Latin adjective permirus[1], glossed by the firm as "very surprising, very different" [2].

The principal Permira entity is a United Kingdom limited liability partnership, Permira Advisers LLP. There are parallel entities in several European countries and in the United States.[3].
