Peter J. Stang (born 1941) is a professor of chemistry at the University of Utah and the current editor of the Journal of the American Chemical Society.

Stang holds a B.S. from DePaul University and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences.
