Planchonia careya is a tree species in the family Lecythidaceae.[1] Common names include Cocky Apple, Cockatoo Apple and Billygoat Plum.[1] It produces an edible fruit which tastes like quince.[2] Indigenous Australians use the bark and leaves in medications.[2] The bark and roots were also used as a fish poison.[2]
