Prasthanam (Telugu: ప్రస్థానం English translation: Journey,The rise and fall of a person) is an Indian drama Telugu film written and directed by Deva Katta of Vennela fame and produced by Ravi Vallabhaneni under VRC Media & Entertainment banner. Almost four years after his successful debut with American made romantic comedy Vennela, Deva Katta returns to Telugu industry with a larger scale intense subject enacted by the promising up-coming hero Sharvanand (Vennela, Amma Cheppindi and Gamyam fame) who played a second lead in Deva Katta’s Vennela. The producer Ravi Vallabhaneni is also one among the Vennela producers.

Other important cast includes veteran actor and dialogue king Sai Kumar in a different look, Sundeep Kishan (nephew of famous DoP Chota K. Naidu), Jaya Prakash Reddy, Jeeva, Vennela Kishore and Surekha Vani. Prasthanam is expected to hit theaters during the first quarter of 2010.

The trailer[1] of the movie released in December, 2009 received immense response from film buffs and industry circles setting up high expectations about the film.



This rich looking film is only made with a modest budget of 3.8 Crores and filmed for about 72 days in Hyderabad and Vijayawada surroundings.

Innalluga song was shot in Kodaikanal. Bedaro, Murali Lola, and Evado Vaadu was shot in Hyderabad. Naayodochadoe and Ne Rendallo was shot in the surroundings of Vijayawada...


The audio and background score is composed by Mahesh Shankar. The audio was released on the 12th of December at Big Bazaar(ameerpet).. The album has seven songs... and has immensely raised the expectations about the movie.
