Prince Friedrich Ferdinand of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg[1][2] (Full German name: Friedrich Ferdinand Carl Ernst August Wilhelm Harold Casimir Nikolaus Prinz zu Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg[1][2]), (born 14 May 1913 in Gotha, Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Germany[1][2]; died 31 May 1989 in Glücksburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany[1][2]). Friedrich Ferdinand was the fourth child and youngest son of Prince Albrecht of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg (1863-1948) and his first wife Countess Ortrud of Ysenburg and Büdingen (1879-1918).

Marriage and issue

Friedrich Ferdinand married Duchess Anastasia of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, youngest daughter of Frederick Francis IV, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin and his wife Princess Alexandra of Hanover and Cumberland, on 1 September 1943 at Willigrad bei Schwerin[1][2]. Friedrich Ferdinand and Anastasia had four daughters[1][2]:
