From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The title of Prince of Portugal (Príncipe de Portugal) was created by Edward of Portugal, and was attributed only to the first in line to the throne. The first to use the title was Edward's son Afonso (later Afonso V) and the last was Teodósio, son of John IV of Portugal.

In 1645 the title was changed to Prince of Brazil (Príncipe do Brasil).
