Radhika Apte is an Indian film and stage actress. She made her film debut in the 2005 film Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi!.

Early life

Apte is from Pune, Maharashtra. She is an Economics graduate from Ferguson College, Pune. She is associated with Mohit Takarkar’s theatre troupe Aasakta in her hometown.[1]

Career

Actor Rahul Bose, who had seen her perform in Anahita Oberoi’s play Bombay Black, suggested her name to director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury who cast her in Antaheen along with Aparna Sen, Sharmila Tagore and Rahul Bose. She played the role of Brinda Roy Menon, a TV journalist, in Antaheen.[2]

She has done Marathi plays like Tu, Purnaviram, Matra Yatra and Kanyadaan with Lilette Dubey.[3] Samuel Beckett’s That Time with Rehan Engineer.

Apte will appear as Savitri, a village girl in Sunil Sukhthankar’s untitled Marathi film. She will also be seen in Sunil Doshi’s Waiting Room, a thriller which will mark her entry into Bollywood.[4] Apte will also star in Akash Khurana’s Life on Life, about a bunch of youngsters working in a BPO and Amol Palekar’s untitled Marathi film.
