Ralph H. Trump. In a letter written to his son Eric dated Wed. May 14, 1986, Fred Trump writes: My stepuncle Ralph Trump died at Dunkirk, NY on May 5, exactly 5 months short of being 90. He was always the so-called "black sheep" of the family. When I was in high school, I enjoyed having political arguments with him at family gatherings, probably to the discomfort of others in the family. I hadn't seen him in 25 years until he came to my father's memorial service in March 1983. He had a close call with death a dozen or so years ago. He was in a bar talking (in his usual loud voice) about all the money he had with him. Well, he was rolled and left in a ditch way out in the country. Someone just chanced upon him lying unconscious there.
