Ramona and Beezus is being co-produced by 20th Century Fox's Fox 2000 division and Walden Media.[4][5] The film is directed by Elizabeth Allen, who previously directed Aquamarine.[1][4] The screenplay is by Laurie Craig and Nick Pustay.[4]
During filming in Vancouver, Canada, Selena Gomez attracted significant media attention and speculation for publicly spending time with Twilight star Taylor Lautner.[6]
At the age of nine years old, Joey King was selected from a nationwide casting call to star as rambunctious Ramona Quimby, while Selena Gomez (of the Disney Channel Original Series Wizards of Waverly Place) will play her over-achieving older sister Beezus.[1][4] John Corbett and Bridget Moynahan have been cast as the girls' parents; Ginnifer Goodwin will portray their Aunt Bea.[7] Hutch Dano, star of the Disney XD series Zeke and Luther, will play Henry Huggins.[5]
Ramona and Beezus is expected to be released on July 23, 2010.[3] Release dates of March 19, 2010 and August 13, 2010 had been earlier reported.[1][8]
There are no tracks confirmed for this film yet, except for one song 'Live Like There's No Tomorrow' by Selena Gomez.
