Randall "Stump" Burridge (born January 7, 1966 in Fort Erie, Ontario) is a retired professional ice hockey player.

He played 706 games played in the National Hockey League, scoring 199 goals and notching 251 assists for a total of 450 points, and accumulating 458 penalty minutes.

Career

Burridge was selected by Boston Bruins round 8, #157 overall in the 1985 NHL Entry Draft. He started his career with the Boston Bruins in 1985.

His nickname, short for "Stump Pump," came from the windmill-pump salute Burridge gave after scoring.

Burridge returned to his hometown team, the Buffalo Sabres, in 1995–96 as a walk-on player. He earned a spot on the team and was the team's second leading scorer. After 3 seasons as a Sabre, his NHL career came to an end.

Accomplishments

  • Over his career he made two trips to the Stanley Cup Finals(Boston Bruins).
  • With the Bruins, he was a two time winner of the Seventh Player Award (performing above and beyond expectations)
  • He also won the Elizabeth C. Dufresne Trophy in 1989 as the Bruins' home MVP.
  • 1992 Burridge was named to the NHL All-Star Team while in Washington.
  • In Buffalo Randy earned the Tim Horton Memorial Award (Unsung Hero) as well as the Punch Imlach Memorial Award (Dedication and leadership 1995-1996).
