Ray Snell (born February 24m 1958) is a former guard in the National Football League for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, most notably, along with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Tampa Bay, using their 4th ever first round draft pick, acquired Snell with the 22nd in the first round of the 1980 NFL Draft over such players as Roynell Young, Charles White, and Matt Millen, players who had longer and more productive careers. After struggling through four seasons in Tampa Bay in which he started 35 of the 45 games he played, he was traded to Pittsburgh to continue his struggles there. During 1981, he and George Yarno alternated plays bringing in the offensive play call for Doug Williams.1
