Reroute to Remain (subtitled as: Fourteen Songs of Conscious Insanity) is the sixth studio album by Swedish melodic death metal band In Flames. The album was released on 2 September 2002 on Nuclear Blast. Reroute to Remain was In Flames' first big step towards mainstream music, and was rejected by sections of In Flames' fan base upon its release. It is sometimes viewed as a transitional album between Clayman and Soundtrack to Your Escape. The album's more accessible sound attracted many new fans, and launched In Flames into the US metal scene, securing them the top spot at Ozzfest. However, many of In Flames' original fans rejected this release, claiming that the band had sold out because of its American influences from scenes like alternative metal, Metalcore. Despite this, the album peaked at #13 on the Top Independent Albums chart. This is their first album ever to release singles.
