"Reverie" is an instrumental piece of music by Elton John. It is the tenth track off his 1978 album, A Single Man. It is the shortest track in his back catalogue, clocking at 52 seconds.

Musical structure

It is placed as a stark contrast to the previous number, "Madness". It is short, silent and moody, and features a rather new invention at the time: an arpeggiator, sounding like a flute or any wind instrument. The title is another word for "daydream".

Composer Claude Debussy also wrote a song called "Reverie".
