"Roam" was the third single from The B-52's 1989 hit album Cosmic Thing, following "Channel Z" and "Love Shack". Roam was a number-three hit on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in January 1990. The Discovery Channel used 'Roam' in its own television commercials throughout the late 1990s. Subaru of New Zealand used it in a 2004 commercial. The song is available as downloadable content in the music video game Rock Band. "Roam" is also used as the theme for the Peter Greenberg Worldwide Radio Show in the SSI Radio Network. The song is also used on PBS World. The music video is sans audio on YouTube as of September 23, 2009 due to copyright infringement claims by Warner Music Group.
