Roja Ramani is a South Indian movie actress. She was a child star in her debut movie Bhakta Prahlada (1967), and was popular during the 1970s and early 1980s. She has acted in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam movies.

Personal life and background

Ramani was born in Madras to telugu kamma parents, India. Her father was a journalist with Picture Post.

She is married to Chakrapani, an Oriya actor. They have a son, Tarun, a Tollywood actor.

Career

Ramani first movie was Bhakta Prahlada in 1967, when she was only 7-8 years old.[1][2][3] Ramani said her title role in Bhakta Prahlada and leading roles in Chambarati (Malayalam original for Kanne Vayasu) and O Seeta Katha stand out the most and earned her awards and recognition.[4]

She worked in movies like Paruva Kaalam in Tamil with Kamal Haasan and Kanya Vaiyasulu in Telugu. After that, she appeared in about 20 Malayalam films.[5] She also acted in P. N. Menon's Chembarathy.
